Oh, My Gut
Why do I keep ignoring you?
Let
me tell you about my gut. Not the dream six-pack I keep promising myself, but
the all-knowing life coach living rent-free inside me. This little genius works
overtime, sending me warnings, nudges, and the occasional “Don’t even think
about it.” But do I listen? Of course not. I treat it like spam from an
unknown number and just go about my merry way.
Let
me give it to you straight, the gut knows everything. Like that time, you
ignored the little "Don’t trust that guy" feeling? Yeah, how’d
that work out for you? Or when your gut screamed, “Stop after slice number
three!” and you still went for the fourth? Congratulations, you played
yourself and now can’t fit into your favorite jeans.
Gut throws up red flags faster than you can imagine. That uneasy feeling when something’s off? That’s your gut yelling, “Run, Forrest, run!” But do we listen? Nah., we wait for a PowerPoint presentation from the universe to confirm it.
The
funny part? We’ve mastered Artificial Intelligence, built robots, and sent
people to the moon. But when it comes to listening to our natural
intelligence—our gut—we’re absolute morons. Seriously, the sages were onto
something when they said, “Look within.” They meant it literally. Your gut is sitting there with all the
answers, waving its metaphorical arms like, “Pick me! I KNOW THIS ONE!”
But noooooooooooooo, we wait for advice from someone on Instagram who probably can’t even
spell “intuition.”
Imagine
how great life would be if I actually listened to it. Boy, if I really started
listening to my body, it would truly be a wonderland (cue John Mayer, please).
It’s all there, inside us—the guidance, the wisdom, the alarms. We just have to
let it lead.
Fewer mistakes, better health, smarter choices… For the love of God.
So
next time you feel a nudge from within, remember, that sound isn’t always a
hunger call or a fart (okay, maybe sometimes). It’s your inner genius trying to
keep you on track.
And
honestly? I have a gut feeling that even this blog will be royally ignored. Classic.
