Earthians, Let’s Be Like Earth

Did you know that a year—those 12 months we go through—is just Earth finishing one full lap around the Sun? That’s right, our planet takes about 365.25 days to complete the journey. And to keep track of all that time, we humans decided to break it up into 12 months. Originally, these months were tied to the Moon’s cycles, but let’s say they’ve fallen out of sync over time. Still, in 12 months, Earth is saying, “Hey, I did it again!”

Now think about this: Earth doesn’t have it easy. It’s speeding through space at 67,000 miles per hour, dodging space rocks, braving solar storms, and balancing all kinds of gravitational chaos. Yet, it never misses a beat. Every year, Earth shows up, stays on track, and completes its orbit: no excuses, no drama—just consistent focus.

The Sun plays a pretty big role in all this. Earth’s ultimate cheerleader, keeping it on course and providing light, energy, and warmth. Even during eclipses—those moments when the Sun seems to disappear—its power doesn’t fade. It’s a reminder that even when life casts a shadow, the light is still there, waiting to shine again.

So, what can we learn from this cosmic teamwork? Earth doesn’t compare itself to other planets or say, “Ugh, I’m tired of this orbit thing.” It keeps going, day after day, with purpose and dedication. Imagine if we did the same—stayed focused on our goals, kept showing up even when things got tough, and trusted our own journey.

And those eclipses? They’re just life’s way of reminding us that obstacles are temporary. Sure, the light dims for a bit, but it always comes back. When we face challenges, we can take a page from the Sun’s book: keep shining, even if it’s from behind the scenes.
